Record temperatures for Concord NH , just south of Salisbury
102 in 1966
-37 in 1934 ( I think we can safely assume that up the Merrimack River here in Salisbury it was certainly lower.

Paul Shaw- “You mentioned that one time at Smihs Corner you had a problem, it was pretty cold there”.

Fred:  “In 1935. The lights went out on the tractor and we couldn’t see to plow anymore. About midnight, or something like that . We went mack to Cecil McAlister’s. He got some horse bleakest, put them on the floor, and we slept right near the stove. That night it was 35 degrees below zero. My grandfather lost his apple orchard that time. He had 300 trees, and when he got through the next year he had only 25-30 tress. It wiped him right out.”
