Muster, Encampment and Fife & Drum

REVOLUTIONARY WAR MUSTER AND ENCAMPMENT

In Celebration of our 50th Anniversary the Salisbury Historical Society hosted an event with reanactments showing  life during the Revolutionary War.

There were demonstrations of period medicine, colonial fire starting, a period school classroom, firearms and cannon firings, fur trapping and open fire cooking.

The authentic encampment was created by Captain Morrill’s Company and The Hinsdale Garrison with music by the William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum Corps.

There was the blessing of the troops and honoring of the Revolutionary War veterans buried in our historic cemetery.

The following images and videos are from other events in the past in which these companies have performed and demonstrated life in Revolutionary times.

The following video shows the entire large ensemble performing in Lexington Mass in 2012. A smaller but definitely rousing group from the ensemble will perform for us at our celebration.
